If you run to the receptacle you can either reconfigure to eliminate the switched receptacle or not. Then at the switch connect whites together and blacks to the switch. ![]() There are so many actual ways to make the terminations at the receptacle that you would really need to post a picture of the wires connected to the receptacle to get advice which terminations to intercept.īut basically if you route to the switch you get a new receptacle and connect all the blacks to the gold screw (small slot) side of the receptacle, and the whites to the silver screw (tall slot) side. If you route to the switch you will lose the switched receptacle. You then need to change the connections in the outlet, and if you route to the switch you will need to change those terminations too. You run a cable from the ceiling to either the switch or the receptacle. ![]() ![]() “From my own learning and experience, I see executive dysfunction in ADHD as a self-regulation issue and not a deficit or inability to execute these skills,” says Edwards. I will be going back to the first games DLC entitled ?The Whistleblower? in the near future. However, for the full game the implied sexual assault was enough to get the ratings board to deny Outlast 2 classification in the region. If you haven?t tried, make sure to play the original first. While clearly not for everyone, Outlast 2 is a memorable fright fest that packs the appropriate types of jump scares and gore galore. As a horror movie buff, you get a real sense of appreciation and inspiration for some classic horror movies. It?s as bizarre as it sounds and you need to play to get a better understanding as it contains spoilers.ĭespite spending a majority of the game running for your life, the atmosphere, enemies and environments contain some of the most eerily disturbing assets I?ve seen in a game. One minute you are trying to find your wife, whom was taken by the crazy cult in the town, to being in the middle of a religious war between said cult and another group that is against the cult?s beliefs. At the same time, the restriction takes away from the overall experience at times.Īs you progress through the trippy acid trip filled story, I found myself more and more confused as to what is going on. I get it, that?s something that this game is known for. The one mechanic that would help the frustrations would be a simple evasive move or the ability to knock something in the way to give you a couple extra seconds to escape. In the same regard, one could say, if it were real life, you?d be dead. Clearly, this is a game that?s out to punish you, but being a ?Soulsborne? player, the difficulty can be a bit much. This is Outlast at its best and the only gripe I really had with my time playing was the relentless difficulty. One minute you?re running for your life and the next you are in an elementary school classroom where things can get even weirder. ![]() This time you are somewhere in the canyons of Arizona, and in between you will come across eerie villages, dilapidated churches and even your trippy mind game type of location transitions that the original had. The thing is, it?s not until you experience Outlast 2, that you can truly appreciate legit jump scares and tension throughout the story. Don?t get me wrong, being in a claustrophobic asylum is enough to freak me out in the original. In Outlast 2, the setting has changed and gives it a much more terrifying setting. This was the perfect atmosphere for Outlast and it worked in almost every way. In the original, it took place in an asylum and took inspiration from games like Silent Hill and movies like Jacob?s Ladder. This is survival horror in its purest form. With Outlast, my biggest love/hate about it was that you simply are unable to defend yourself. While there have been plenty of games before it that have included scare factors into the games, nothing prepares you for what you experience in Outlast. This wait built up tension and nerve-racking anxiety that I couldn?t wait to experience. Then it came out and I didn?t get to play for several months after its release. This was a game I read a ton about and couldn?t wait to play. It?s been some time since my last session with the original Outlast. ![]() ![]() For the first time in the series, a vinyl editor was added, so you can actually make your own car. After Underground, Underground 2 and Most Wanted, you tried entering Palmont yet again, but guess who’s back? Your old enemy, Sergeant Nathan Cross (played by Dean McKenzie). Where was the money? Darius then advised you to get out of the city. Instead of money, there were just newspaper scraps. You managed to escape the havoc by using the back alley and you looked into the bag. Nikki couldn’t make it to your car, which was completely ignored by the cops, so she threw the bag into your Supra. Cops were everywhere and they started arresting everyone. The mace-head consists of several triangular flanges with concave edges, ensuring that each flange ends in a wicked point that would rend and shred whatever it hits. A secondary feature of the haft is a partial grip, set above the traditional handle, marked off by a slanted disc on the haft, to allow for one-handed or possible two-handed use, ensuring that this mace can a wielder can really apply the force with a two-handed blow, if need-be. Not only does a mace like this pack considerable impact, but the angular flanges also offer a good chance of piercing armor, including weak plate, in some instances! This particular model of flanged mace is based on a historical medieval weapon, which was found at Windsor Castle, in England. I have never tried to forge a mace head but these are my preliminary thoughts.A good Flanged Medieval Mace is just what you need to get past any opponents armor. There was an iron casting industry in the English Weald in the 15th and 16th centuries. The Thames mace is very tentatively dated to the 13th century but that could be little more than speculation. It’s crucial when you’re editing to see where, say, each quarter-note or eighth-note falls in a measure. Depending on how you set it, you’ll see each measure subdivided by that setting. How you set the grid depends on the rhythmic content of the track. For eighth notes, you’d get eight equal sections, and so forth. If you set the grid for, say, quarter notes, each measure in the editor will be split into four equal sections. It’s particularly useful on music that was recorded in time with your DAW’s click track or metronome. The grid provides the rhythmic contours of your song. Understanding the grid is critical for successful MIDI editing - and audio editing, for that matter. Still, they’re handy if you prefer working in notation, and you can easily switch back and forth between a score editor and other MIDI editors. Powerful as they are, score editing windows are not as fully featured as dedicated notation programs such as Steinberg Dorico. To do this in Cubase, use the Score Editor: The Cubase Score Editor. In a lot of DAWs, you can also edit MIDI in standard music notation. Drum editors are most valuable when working with quantized parts, such as those commonly found in genres like EDM. You can even change the grid value for each drum independently. With the grid snap on (more on this in the next section), it’s easy to manually enter drum notes or move notes from one drum or cymbal to another, and they’ll all be on the grid. When fully quantized (see the “Timing It Right” section below), they also sit on the grid lines instead of between them, like they do in the Key Editor. It’s not all that different from the Key Editor, except that the notes are depicted as diamond-shapes and, since they represent drum hits, are all one length. In Cubase, it’s called, not surprisingly, the Drum Editor. Many DAWs also provide a specialized editor interface for MIDI drum parts. The notes in the list are shown as slashes going from left to right as time elapses, and top to bottom with each successive note: The Cubase List Editor. You can also select notes and events directly from the event list.Ĭubase’s List Editor is unusual in that it also provides a graphic section. In many DAWs (including Cubase), if you select an event in any other MIDI editor (such as a piano roll), you’ll also find it highlighted in the event list, where you can input changes numerically to any of the fields. This lets you edit events precisely, using numeric values. (In Cubase, it’s referred to as the List Editor.) The basic idea is to display a list of every MIDI event, including note-ons and note-offs, as well as Velocity and controller events such as Pitch Bend or Modulation. Other ViewsĪnother type of MIDI editor offered by many DAWs is called an event list. Just select the note or notes you want to transpose and drag them up or down until they’re at the desired pitch. Transposing MIDI notes is simple in a piano roll editor too. Additionally, you can also drag on one end of a note to lengthen or shorten its duration. In this editor, you can use standard cut, copy and paste operations to manipulate notes, or you can click on a note (or notes) and drag it to another location or another pitch. Elapsed time (usually expressed in bars and beats) is shown on the horizontal axis, while note pitches are shown on the vertical axis, with the duration of notes corresponding to their length. ![]() The concept is relatively simple: MIDI notes and data are displayed on a grid, somewhat reminiscent of a old-fashioned player piano roll, hence the name. The most commonly used and versatile MIDI editor is known as the piano roll (in Steinberg Cubase, it’s called the Key Editor). In this article, we’ll look at some of the most common ones, and show you how to use them. Every DAW gives you plenty of options for viewing, changing and perfecting your MIDI tracks. In addition to their sonic flexibility, MIDI recordings are freely editable. Because MIDI recordings consist only of data that tells your DAW which note to play and when (along with other performance-related information), you can assign any MIDI track to any virtual instrument in your DAW, or to a connected MIDI synthesizer or drum machine. Among other things, it gives you the ability to record performances into your DAW from a connected MIDI keyboard or other “controller” instrument. ![]() MIDI (short for “Musical Instrument Digital Interface”) is a digital “language” that allows electronic instruments to control each other and communicate with computers. ![]() |
